MT5 Trade Copier

ConnectX Copy connects MetaTrader 5 accounts to each other and to every other supported platform. An MT5 account can be the master, the slave, or both at once in different copiers.

Like MT4, MT5 uses a real-time tickets stream rather than polling, and it is one of three platforms — with MT4 and Match-Trader — where a stop or target moved after entry is mirrored to the slave.

How ConnectX Copy works with MetaTrader 5

01

Connect the account

Add your MT5 login, password and broker server. Nothing is installed on your machine and no VPS is required.

02

Pick a direction

Choose master and slave. MT5 can drive any other supported platform, or be driven by one.

03

Set sizing and protection

Pick a lot-sizing mode, add filters if needed, and optionally arm equity protection.

What MT5 supports

Both what it does and what it does not. The limitations are as useful to know as the features when you are deciding which account should lead.

  • Copy as master or slave
  • Real-time tickets streamMT4 and MT5 are the only platforms with a push stream; the others reconcile by polling.
  • Live quote stream
  • TradingView alert execution
  • Stop-loss / take-profit on entry
  • Modify stops after entryChanges to a stop or target on the master are mirrored to the slave.
  • Partial close

Execution and symbol considerations

MT5 accounts can be hedging or netting. On a netting account the broker aggregates positions per symbol, so a copied close behaves differently from the same action on a hedging account.

Broker symbol suffixes vary widely on MT5. Symbol mapping pairs them explicitly so a copy is never dropped because one broker calls the instrument something else.

Because MT5 exposes an order-modify path, trailing or manually adjusted stops on the master follow through to the slave.

Risk management

All five sizing modes are available on MT5: Fixed Lot, Lot Multiplier, Balance Multiplier, Fixed Balance Multiplier and Equity Multiplier.

Equity protection monitors the account and can close copied trades, or every trade, on an equity stop-loss, take-profit or drawdown limit.

Filters restrict what is copied by symbol, lot size, direction, magic number or comment.

Common use cases

Multiple MT5 accounts, one strategy

Trade once and mirror it across several MT5 accounts at different brokers, each with its own sizing.

Funded account management

Copy a personal account onto one or more funded accounts with independent drawdown limits.

MT5 to a newer platform

Keep trading on MT5 while mirroring into cTrader, DXtrade or TradeLocker.

MT5 questions

Can I copy between MT5 accounts at different brokers?

Yes. The two accounts do not need to be at the same broker, and symbol mapping handles differing instrument names.

Does it work with hedging and netting accounts?

Both are supported. On a netting account the broker aggregates positions per symbol, so closes behave differently from a hedging account — worth allowing for when setting sizing.

Do stops move on the slave when I move them on the master?

Yes. MT5 is one of only two platforms with an order-modify path, so stop and target changes are mirrored.

Can an MT5 account receive TradingView alerts?

Yes, including alerts that carry a stop loss or take profit.
