TradingView Alerts to Live Trades
TradingView is a signal source rather than a broker platform. ConnectX Copy receives your TradingView alert as a webhook and places the corresponding trade on a connected broker account.
Alerts can be executed on MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker accounts. What each alert can carry depends on the destination platform, so it is worth choosing the target with that in mind.
How ConnectX Copy works with TradingView
Create a source
Add a TradingView source in the dashboard. You are given a webhook URL and a secret to paste into your alert.
Point the alert at it
Set the alert’s webhook URL and paste the JSON message from the setup tab, which carries the secret, symbol, side and order type.
Choose the target account
Pick which connected account the alert should trade, and set its sizing.
What TradingView supports
Both what it does and what it does not. The limitations are as useful to know as the features when you are deciding which account should lead.
- Execute alerts on MT4 and MT5Including stops at entry, and moving stops afterwards.
- Execute alerts on cTraderIncluding stops set at entry.
- Execute alerts on TradeLockerIncluding stops set at entry.
- Execute alerts on DXtradeThe alert must not carry a stop loss or take profit.
- Execute alerts on Match-TraderMatch-Trader is not in the supported set for alert execution.
- Partial close from an alertAn alert can close a percentage of the currently open position.
Execution and symbol considerations
No stop loss or take profit is placed unless your alert carries one. If you expect protection on a trade, the alert has to include it.
Stops sent at entry work on MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradeLocker. On DXtrade an alert carrying stops is rejected rather than opening an unprotected position.
Moving a stop after entry is only possible on MT4 and MT5, because they are the only platforms with an order-modify path.
The alert message must be valid JSON. A placeholder joined to other text inside a string makes TradingView send plain text instead, which the webhook cannot read — copy the template from the setup tab rather than composing one by hand.
Risk management
Alert-driven trades use the same five sizing modes as copied trades: Fixed Lot, Lot Multiplier, Balance Multiplier, Fixed Balance Multiplier and Equity Multiplier.
Equity protection applies to the destination account regardless of whether a trade arrived from a copier or an alert.
Because DXtrade cannot take stops at entry, use account-level equity protection there rather than per-trade stops.
Common use cases
Pine strategy into a live account
Run a strategy on TradingView and have its alerts executed on your broker account without watching the chart.
Indicator alerts without manual entry
Turn an indicator’s buy and sell alerts into orders on MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade or TradeLocker.
One alert, a copied fan-out
Execute the alert on a master account and let an existing copier distribute the result to your other accounts.

TradingView questions
Which platforms can TradingView alerts trade?
MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker. Match-Trader is not currently supported for alert execution.
Will my trade have a stop loss?
Only if the alert carries one. No stop or target is added automatically, so include them in the alert if you need them.
Can an alert move a stop after entry?
On MT4 and MT5 only. The other platforms have no order-modify path, so a stop stays where it was placed at entry.
Why was my alert rejected?
The most common causes are a message TradingView could not send as JSON, a wrong or missing secret, or an alert carrying stops sent to DXtrade, which does not accept them at entry.
