Match-Trader Trade Copier

ConnectX Copy connects Match-Trader accounts as either the master or the slave in a copier, so a Match-Trader account can be driven by an MT4, MT5 or cTrader master, or drive them in turn.

Match-Trader is used by a number of brokers and prop firms that do not offer MetaTrader, which makes it a common destination for traders who want to keep an existing strategy while trading on a different platform.

What Match-Trader supports

Both what it does and what it does not. The limitations are as useful to know as the features when you are deciding which account should lead.

  • Copy as master or slave
  • Partial close
  • Real-time tickets streamMatch-Trader is reconciled by polling rather than the MT push stream.
  • Modify stops after entryNo order-modify path is available, so a stop is not moved after it is placed.
  • TradingView alert executionTradingView alert execution currently covers MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker. Match-Trader is not in that set.

Execution and symbol considerations

Match-Trader accounts are reconciled by polling rather than a push stream, so copying is driven by how quickly the account can be read rather than by a broker push.

Instrument naming on Match-Trader often differs from MetaTrader conventions. Symbol mapping is the mechanism for pairing them explicitly.

If you need TradingView alerts executed, pair the alert with an MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade or TradeLocker account instead.

Risk management

All five sizing modes are available: Fixed Lot, Lot Multiplier, Balance Multiplier, Fixed Balance Multiplier and Equity Multiplier.

Equity protection can close copied trades or every trade on an equity or drawdown limit.

Filters by symbol, lot size, direction, magic number and comment apply.

Match-Trader questions

Can I copy from MT4 or MT5 to Match-Trader?

Yes. Match-Trader can be the slave to a MetaTrader master, or the master driving other platforms.

Can Match-Trader execute TradingView alerts?

Not currently. TradingView alert execution covers MT4, MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker. Use one of those as the alert target.

How do I connect a Match-Trader account?

Enter your Match-Trader server, email and password, then pick the trading account from the list returned.

Do stops move after entry?

Yes. Match-Trader has an order-modify path, so a stop or target moved on the master is mirrored to the copy. It is one of three destinations that can do this, alongside MT4 and MT5. Pending-order edits are the exception and are not supported.
