MT4 to Match-Trader Trade Copier
Run your strategy on MT4 and have Match-Trader accounts follow it, with stops kept in step and sizing set for each destination.
ConnectX Copy connects an MT4 master to Match-Trader destinations, so trades you take on MT4 are reproduced on Match-Trader without you placing them twice.
Match-Trader is one of the platforms that supports moving a stop after entry, which means a strategy that trails its stop keeps behaving the same way on the copy — something not every cross-platform pairing can offer.
Match-Trader has become a common platform for funded and evaluation accounts, so this pairing is often about driving a firm-issued account from the MT4 account you actually trade.
How MT4 → Match-Trader copying works
MT4 master is watched
Connect the MT4 account by login and server. Its trades arrive on a real-time push stream.
Match-Trader is connected
Connect the Match-Trader account with its email, password and broker details.
The order is translated
The symbol is matched to Match-Trader’s naming and the lot is calculated using the sizing rule you chose.
Match-Trader executes
The position opens with its stop and target, and later stop changes on the MT4 master are applied to the copy.
What ConnectX Copy can copy on this pair
Including what it cannot. The limits are as useful as the features when you are choosing which account should lead.
- Entry and close copying
- Stop loss and take profit
- Stop changes after entryMatch-Trader supports position editing, so a stop moved on MT4 is moved on the copy.
- Partial close
- Multiple destinations
- Symbol mapping
- Copy existing open trades
- Magic number and comment filters
Risk and lot-sizing controls
Fixed lot, lot multiplier, or scaling by the Match-Trader account’s balance or equity.
Fixed master balance sizing so the copy is not resized when the MT4 account is topped up.
Minimum and maximum lot enforcement for the destination’s limits.
Direction, lot-range, magic number and comment filters on the master side.
Equity protection with alert, pause or close actions and an optional daily reset — useful where a firm sets a daily loss limit.
Symbol mapping
Match-Trader brokers name instruments their own way, so the MT4 symbol is mapped before the order is placed.
Automatic matching handles the common cases and you can set explicit mappings for anything else.
Contract size differences are applied during sizing so the copy carries the risk you intended.
Platform-specific behaviour
Match-Trader is read over its REST API on a short reconciliation cycle rather than a push stream, so a copy can arrive a few seconds behind the MT4 master.
Pending-order edits are the one thing Match-Trader does not accept; stop and target changes on open positions are applied normally.
Important limitations
- Each connected account counts as a billed connection.
- Whether copy trading is permitted on a funded or evaluation account is your firm’s rule, not something ConnectX Copy can grant — check your agreement first.
Setting it up
- 01Connect your MT4 account as the master.
- 02Connect the Match-Trader account with its email, password and broker details.

Common use cases
Driving a funded account from your own
Trade your MT4 account normally and let the Match-Trader evaluation or funded account follow, sized to its own rules.
Running several firm accounts at once
One MT4 master can feed multiple Match-Trader destinations, each with its own risk settings.
Keeping an existing MT4 strategy
Nothing about the strategy has to change to reach a Match-Trader broker.

MT4 → Match-Trader questions
Do stops move after entry on Match-Trader?
Yes. Match-Trader supports editing an open position, so a stop or target moved on the MT4 master is applied to the copy. It is one of three destinations that can do this, alongside MT4 and MT5.
How quickly does a copy arrive?
Match-Trader is reconciled over REST on a short cycle rather than a push stream, so expect a few seconds rather than sub-second.
Can I copy to more than one Match-Trader account?
Yes, each with its own sizing and risk settings.
Is copy trading allowed on my funded account?
That is your firm’s decision, not a product setting. Check your account agreement before you begin — some firms restrict copying from external sources.
What about pending orders?
Positions copy normally. Editing a pending order is the one operation Match-Trader does not accept through this path.
