MT5 to Match-Trader Trade Copier
Copy MT5 trades to your Match-Trader accounts with stops kept in step, sizing set per destination and account-level risk limits.
ConnectX Copy mirrors an MT5 account onto Match-Trader. Everything the MT5 side does — market entries, pending orders, partial closes, stop adjustments — is reproduced on the Match-Trader account without a second pair of hands.
MT5 masters often carry more than one strategy on the same login, and magic number and comment filters let you send only the part that belongs on the destination. That is usually the difference between a clean firm account and one full of trades you did not intend to copy.
Because Match-Trader accepts edits to an open position, stop-management logic survives the crossing. A break-even move or a trailing stop on MT5 lands on the copy instead of being silently dropped.
How MT5 → Match-Trader copying works
MT5 master is watched
Connect the MT5 account by login and server. Trades arrive on a real-time push stream.
Match-Trader is connected
Connect the account with its email, password and broker details.
The order is translated
The MT5 symbol is matched to Match-Trader’s naming and the lot is calculated per destination.
Match-Trader executes and keeps up
The position opens with its stop and target, and later stop changes are applied to the copy.
What ConnectX Copy can copy on this pair
Including what it cannot. The limits are as useful as the features when you are choosing which account should lead.
- Entry and close copying
- Stop loss and take profit
- Stop changes after entryMatch-Trader supports position editing, so trailing stops carry across.
- Partial close
- Multiple destinations
- Per-destination position sizing
- Copy existing open trades
- Symbol mapping
Risk and lot-sizing controls
Five sizing modes: a fixed lot, a multiple of the master, scaling by the destination’s balance or equity, or scaling against a fixed master balance you nominate.
Nominating a fixed master balance is the mode that matters most on evaluations — payouts and top-ups on your MT5 account then stop moving the size of the copy.
Lot floors and ceilings clamp the calculated size to what the Match-Trader broker will actually accept.
Magic number and comment filters keep a multi-strategy MT5 login from sending everything it does to a single firm account.
Equity protection watches the destination’s own equity, not the master’s, and can alert, pause the copier or close trades — with a daily reset if the firm measures loss per day.
Symbol mapping
MT5 brokers append their own suffixes and Match-Trader brokers use their own naming, so both ends are resolved rather than assumed.
Indices and metals are where this usually bites: a US100 on one side may be NAS100 or a suffixed variant on the other.
Where the two venues quote different contract sizes, the difference is applied while the lot is calculated, so the destination ends up with the exposure you intended rather than the same number.
Platform-specific behaviour
Match-Trader is read over its REST API on a short reconciliation cycle rather than a push stream, so a copy can arrive a few seconds behind the MT5 fill.
Editing a pending order is the one operation Match-Trader does not accept; changes to open positions are applied normally.
Important limitations
- Each connected account counts as a billed connection.
- Whether copy trading is permitted on a funded or evaluation account is your firm’s decision — check your agreement first.
Setting it up
- 01Connect your MT5 account as the master.
- 02Connect the Match-Trader account with its email, password and broker details.
- 03Create the copier and choose the sizing rule.
- 04Set equity protection if your firm enforces a daily loss limit.
- 05Place a small MT5 trade and confirm it arrives.
Common use cases
Sending one strategy off a busy MT5 login
Magic number filters copy just the system you want on the firm account and leave your discretionary trades behind.
Progressing evaluation to funded
The same master keeps driving the account as it changes status; only the destination’s sizing needs revisiting.
Holding several firm accounts at different phases
Each destination carries its own sizing and its own protection thresholds.
Preserving stop management across platforms
Break-even moves and trailing stops reach the copy rather than stopping at the platform boundary.

MT5 → Match-Trader questions
Can I copy only one strategy from my MT5 account?
Yes, and on a multi-strategy login you probably should. Magic number and comment filters send only the matching trades and ignore the rest.
Does a break-even or trailing stop reach the copy?
Yes. Match-Trader accepts edits to an open position, so stop and target changes made on MT5 are applied to the Match-Trader trade.
Which sizing mode suits an evaluation account?
Scaling by the destination’s balance keeps risk proportional. If you top up or withdraw from the MT5 side, nominating a fixed master balance stops that changing the copy.
How far behind the master does the copy run?
Match-Trader is read over REST on a short reconciliation cycle rather than a push stream, so it is seconds rather than instant.
Am I allowed to do this on a funded account?
Your firm decides that, not ConnectX Copy. Some permit copying between their own accounts and restrict external sources — read the agreement first.
