MT5 to DXtrade Trade Copier
Copy MT5 trades to one or more DXtrade accounts, with sizing converted to DXtrade units and stops kept in step as the trade develops.
ConnectX Copy mirrors an MT5 account onto DXtrade. The MT5 side is watched on a real-time push stream, so the copier reacts the moment a position opens, closes or has its stop moved.
MT5 accounts often carry several instruments and several systems at once. Filters decide what reaches the DXtrade account, so a single busy master does not have to become a busy firm account.
Sizing is the part most people ask about here: DXtrade quotes in units rather than lots, and the conversion happens as part of the calculation rather than being left to you.
How MT5 → DXtrade copying works
MT5 master is watched
The account is connected by login and server and its activity arrives in real time.
Filters decide what travels
Direction, lot range, magic number and comment filters select which master trades are copied.
Lots become units
The MT5 lot is converted using the DXtrade instrument’s contract size — forex is inferred at 100,000 units per lot where the broker sends no explicit figure.
DXtrade executes and is protected
The position opens and its stop and target are attached as linked protection orders.
What ConnectX Copy can copy on this pair
Including what it cannot. The limits are as useful as the features when you are choosing which account should lead.
- Entry and close copying
- Stop loss and take profitAttached as linked protection orders after the position is confirmed.
- Stop changes after entryApplied by replacing the protection order at the new level.
- Partial close
- Unit conversionHandled during sizing so exposure matches rather than the raw number.
- Multiple DXtrade destinations
- Copy existing open trades
- Real-time source streamThe MT5 side is push-driven.
Risk and lot-sizing controls
Five sizing modes: fixed lot, lot multiplier, balance or equity scaling, or scaling against a fixed master balance you nominate.
Lot floors and ceilings clamp the converted size to what the DXtrade broker accepts, and an order too small to meet the instrument’s minimum increment is refused with a clear reason rather than sent.
Direction filters to send only longs or only shorts, and lot-range filters to skip unusually large trades.
Equity protection watching the DXtrade account’s own equity, with alert, pause or close actions.
Symbol mapping
MT5 symbols carry broker suffixes and DXtrade uses names like EUR/USD, so the mapping is resolved before the order is placed.
Indices and metals are the usual cases needing an explicit mapping.
Contract size is read from the DXtrade instrument itself where the broker publishes one, and inferred from the asset class where it does not.
Platform-specific behaviour
Because DXtrade is involved, the copier reconciles over REST on a short cycle rather than a push stream, so the copy lands within seconds.
Protection orders are placed once the position is confirmed, so a stop is attached shortly after the fill rather than inside it.
Important limitations
- Both ends of the copier consume a connection, so a one-to-one link uses two.
Setting it up
- 01Connect your MT5 account as the master.
- 02Connect each DXtrade account with its login, account code and broker URL.
- 03Create the copier and choose how the destination should be sized.
- 04Check the symbol mapping for anything beyond the majors.
- 05Place a small MT5 trade and confirm the size and stop on the DXtrade side.
Common use cases
Running an MT5 strategy on a DXtrade broker
Keep the analysis and execution on MT5 while the position exists where you need it.
Feeding several DXtrade accounts
One master, several destinations, each sized independently.
Filtering a busy master
Send only one instrument or one system to the DXtrade account.

MT5 → DXtrade questions
Why does DXtrade show a different number than MT5?
DXtrade sizes in units and MT5 in lots. A 0.01 lot forex trade is 1,000 units — the exposure is the same, the unit of measure is not.
Are stops placed on the DXtrade copy?
Yes, when the master trade carries them. They are attached as linked protection orders once the position is confirmed.
Can a stop be moved later?
Yes. The existing protection order is cancelled and replaced at the new level.
What happens if the converted size is too small to trade?
The order is refused with a message naming the instrument’s minimum increment, rather than being sent and silently never filling.
Is this real-time?
The MT5 side is. The DXtrade side is reconciled over REST on a short cycle, so expect seconds.
