cTrader to DXtrade Trade Copier

Trade on cTrader and have DXtrade accounts follow, with the size converted between two platforms that measure it differently.

ConnectX Copy watches a cTrader account and reproduces its trades on DXtrade. cTrader pushes execution events as fills happen, so the copier learns about a trade immediately rather than discovering it on a sweep.

The cTrader account is connected through cTrader’s own authorisation screen. You approve access there and no trading password is stored with us — you can revoke it from cTrader at any time.

This is the pairing where size deserves the most attention, because neither platform expresses it the way the other does. That conversion is handled for you rather than left as an exercise.

How cTrader → DXtrade copying works

01

cTrader is authorised

Connect through cTrader’s OAuth screen. ConnectX Copy holds a revocable token, not a password.

02

Execution events arrive

cTrader pushes fills as they happen, so nothing waits on a polling cycle at the source.

03

Size is translated twice

The cTrader volume becomes a lot, and that lot becomes DXtrade units using the destination instrument’s contract size.

04

DXtrade executes and is protected

The position opens, then its stop and target are attached as linked protection orders.

What ConnectX Copy can copy on this pair

Including what it cannot. The limits are as useful as the features when you are choosing which account should lead.

  • Entry and close copying
  • Stop loss and take profitAttached to the DXtrade position once it is confirmed.
  • Stop changes after entryDXtrade protection orders are replaced at the new level.
  • Partial close
  • OAuth connectionNo cTrader password is stored.
  • Cross-platform size conversion
  • Multiple DXtrade destinations
  • Symbol mapping

Risk and lot-sizing controls

Fixed lot, lot multiplier, or scaling by the DXtrade account’s balance or equity.

Fixed master balance sizing when you want the copy sized against a nominated figure rather than the live cTrader balance.

Lot floors and ceilings, plus refusal of any order too small to meet the DXtrade instrument’s minimum increment.

Direction and lot-range filters on the cTrader master.

Equity protection on the DXtrade destination with alert, pause or close actions.

Symbol mapping

cTrader and DXtrade name instruments differently and quote size differently, so both are resolved before an order is placed.

Explicit mappings cover anything the automatic match cannot resolve.

The contract-size ratio is applied during sizing, which is what keeps a 0.10 cTrader position from becoming a wildly different exposure on DXtrade.

Platform-specific behaviour

The cTrader side is event-driven; the DXtrade side is reconciled over REST on a short cycle, so the copy lands within seconds.

Stops on DXtrade are separate linked orders attached after the fill rather than carried inside the entry.

Important limitations

  • Authorising a cTrader account needs a browser step the first time.

Setting it up

  1. 01Connect your cTrader account and approve access on cTrader’s screen.
  2. 02Connect the DXtrade account with its login, account code and broker URL.
  3. 03Create the copier and choose a sizing rule.
  4. 04Confirm the symbol mapping for the instruments you trade.
  5. 05Place a small cTrader trade and check the size and stop that arrive.

Common use cases

Holding a DXtrade account without leaving cTrader

Your workflow stays on cTrader while the position exists on the broker that requires DXtrade.

Connecting without sharing a password

OAuth suits anyone unwilling to hand a trading password to a third party.

Driving several DXtrade accounts

One cTrader master, several destinations, each sized on its own balance.

cTrader → DXtrade questions

Do I share my cTrader password?

No. cTrader uses OAuth — you authorise on their screen and we hold a token you can revoke whenever you like.

How is size decided across two different platforms?

The cTrader volume is expressed as a lot, then converted to DXtrade units using the destination instrument’s contract size, so the exposure matches.

Are the DXtrade positions protected?

Yes when the master trade carries a stop or target — they are attached as linked protection orders once the position is confirmed.

Can stops be moved afterwards?

Yes, on the DXtrade side. The protection order is replaced at the new level.

How fast is it?

cTrader pushes fills immediately; DXtrade is reconciled on a short REST cycle, so the copy lands in seconds.
